The Solargraphy Project
Join us for our Solargraphy Project, which will form a component of our upcoming exhibition, Winning Sky Photos: the David Malin Awards 2011.
We ran out of stock of the special photographic paper. We want to encourage you to participate and purchase the paper from this website (it is the same paper we had). Alternatively you can buy the paper from Vanbar, or visit Camera House stores.
Follow these easy steps to participate:
- Order the special photographic paper here.
- Follow these instructions for the construction of a pin-hole camera. You will need a soft drink can, strong scissors, a torch, strong tape, a small (2x2cm) piece of aluminium foil, a pin, red cellophane, and photographic paper (please note: do not remove the photographic paper from its black envelope at this stage).
- The photographic paper is low sensitivity paper and is designed for long exposures. This kind of photography is very long exposure indeed. Once assembled, point your camera at the horizon, in a direction that will catch some sun each day. The longer the exposure the better, so we encourage you to set your camera up ASAP and leave your photo to expose over coming months until the end of May.
- Photos that we receive before 5pm on 31May 2012 will be shown as part of the Winning Sky Photos: the David Malin Awards 2011 exhibition.
- If you wish to be part of the exhibition, please scan your photos and send them to us in highest resolution with these details: Continent, Country, City, Latitude, Longitude,Year, Name.
Happy photographing from RiAus!
