Ryan Sims is an Adelaide-based multidisciplinary artist. His diverse practice encompasses sculpture, installation, textile art, costume, performance, public/landscape art and sound, film and media arts. Practising for over 10 years, exhibiting locally, interstate and internationally, Ryan’s most recent creations have included embroidering his street-side garage door in Waymouth Street for the Adelaide Fringe 2011. In June this year, he created an audience participatory ‘Stitch-Factory’ for the Adhocracy open-house-art-making-fest at Vitalstatistix Theatre Company, Port Adelaide. In August, he exhibited ‘Stitchworks’, a series of knit-portrait-films presented on the Rundle Street Lantern, the Rundle Mall superscreen and projected at various locations around Adelaide CBD as part of the SALA Festival Moving Image Project.
