Outreach activities ran from Monday 10 October until Wednesday 19 October around SA & NT – Katherine, Tennant Creek, Alice Springs, Coober Pedy, Port Augusta

RiAus and the Aurora Solar Car visited towns along the route in the lead up to the Veolia World Solar Challenge.

Demystifying the science behind solar cars, the outreach program stopped in Katherine, Tennant Creek, Alice Springs, Coober Pedy and Port Augusta. Teachers, students and the public had the chance to see the Aurora Solar Car in action and discuss the design and technology with members of the Aurora Team and Zoz Brooks of the Discovery Channel.

From the RiAus team, Lisa Bailey was with the Outreach Program along the entire route. Kathy Granger travelled from Katherine to Alice Springs, and Cobi Smith travelled from Alice Springs to Pt Augusta.

Zoz Brooks from the Discovery Channel, Martin Brook and Nick Grant from the Aurora Team, and representatives from Veolia accompanied the RiAus team, stopping at all towns along the route.
