The release of the draft plan for the Murray-Darling Basin Plan ruffled a few feathers last year. People want to know what the plan will mean for business along the river, how it will affect those up and downstream, and whether it will save the Murray-Darling system.

In this instalment of Science Behind the Headlines, Dr Paul Willis hosted a discussion on the science behind the Murray-Darling Basin Plan. He talked with Prof. Barry Hart, a Member of the Murray-Darling Basin Authority and Former Director of the Monash Water Studies; Dr. Ben Gawne,  Director, The Murray-Darling Freshwater Research Centre; Dr. Richard Davis from Wentworth Group; Tory Shepherd, Editor of the Punch; Daniel Willis from the Advertiser, Michael Sexton, a reporter from ABC TV 7:30 Report and Dr. Ed Sykes from the Australian Science Media Centre in discussing ways this information is relayed to the public.
