The story allows us to peek inside the diary of Charlie, who has been subject to a medical experiment to boost his intelligence. If someone offered you the promise of an increased IQ, would you do it?

I remember reading the short story in 1960 when I was 14 years old.
This story had a very profound effect on me; then, and now.
It was also serialised for radio that I recall listening to (UK)
Moving, heart rending, yet also a story of valiant hope.
