The ethics of selling cells (21 November)

With support increasing for stem cell research, Australians are increasingly travelling to overseas clinics and companies offering a quick fix for a myriad of conditions with stem cell treatments.

“These treatments can involve patients receiving injections into their brain, spinal cords or veins, they are highly expensive and often have no scientific evidence to support their claims,” Director of the Education, Ethics, Law and Community Awareness Unit at Stem Cells Australia, Dr Megan Munsie said.
